Sir Ringo Starr’s son, Zak Starkey was definitely nervous before playing The Cavern.
Even though he himself had only visited his father’s home city once and had never decided to enter the famous music venue where the legendary rock band that also included Sir Paul McCartney and the late John Lennon and George Harrison – started out.
However, after the group, Mantra of The Cosmos, was completed by Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder and Bez and former Oasis bassist Andy Bell, they played two shows there in one day, calling it a “surreal” experience.
Ahead of the performances the former Oasis drummer did reach out to the famous guitarist Noel Gallagher for reassurance.
“It was very surreal. I was s******* it – proper s****** it until I got on there and it was amazing. The music is like holy music isn’t it,” Zak told the Liverpool Echo, speaking of his experience while doing the show.
Revealing the conversation he had with Noel, Zak mentioned, “Before I was s******* my pants. I was sitting in my room, and I text Noel saying I was s****** it. He said, ‘Get down there and get on, what are you talking about?’”
Mantra Of The Cosmos have only performed a few shows, which includes them making their debut at Glastonbury in 2023.
