Benedict Cumberbatch shared how his outlook on life shifted since becoming a father.
The Doctor Strange star recently chatted with Variety on Wednesday, January 22 about his experience with fatherhood.
During the conversation, Cumberbatch revealed that since he has taken over his role as a dad his priorities in life have been changed.
“The minute you have kids this sense of time sinks in far more profoundly,” he told the publisher.
The 48-year-old actor went on to say, “My youngest is turning 6 tomorrow, and I’m like, ‘I will be in my 60s when he’s 21,’ you know? It’s crazy. It’s gone so fast.”
“So there’s a huge shift in priorities,” the Marvel actor said, adding, “And it makes you value what you do with your life in a very different way.”
“It does weigh on me. When you become a parent, your thoughts turn more towards mortality,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention that Benedict Cumberbatch shares three sons Christopher, 9, Hal, 7, and Finn, 6, with his wife Sophie Hunter.
Back in February 2022, Cumberbatch gushed over his wife while giving an acceptance speech on receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“Together, we’ve created an amazing family of three extraordinary little human beings, who again, I would say a lot about, but you know what I feel about them, and this is public.”
