David Beckham and the royal family share a strong connection, which ranges from having good friendships to helping in The Firm’s social services.
Expanding on these, the English footballer in Davos as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador at WEF said, “I always get emotional talking about them.”
Regarding his involvement with one of the monarch’s main charities, the King’s Foundation, where he is appointed an ambassador, he said, “I always get emotional talking about anything that I do with our Royal Family. I was brought up in a household that adored and loved everything that came with the Royal Family.”
He added that his friend Prince William, “Whenever he sends me a message and says “I need you to do this” or “be there”, it’s always a “yes,”‘the 49-year-old recalled.
David also remembered sharing the news of working with the royal family with his mother, Sandra West, who “burst into tears.”
“She knows my grandparents would have been proud that I have played such an important role in the Royal Family and the charities that they have,” he concluded.
