Dolly Parton has opened about the reason of ditching dieting on the holidays.

While chatting with Closer magazine, the Islands In The Stream singer candidly talked about how she maintains her trim figure even after cheat days during the holidays.

“We all start eating around Thanksgiving, and we eat until the first of January,” she began by saying. “And that’s when we all go on our diets. You know how that goes?”

Parton revealed her dieting plan for Christmas, and said, “Well, I’m not going to even think about dieting now. I’m just going to eat everything I want to.”

“You stretch your clothes out! But you’re ready for a diet after the first of the year,” the 11-times Grammy award winner mentioned, a new year plan.

Reflecting upon a menu of the holidays, continued, “We have turkey and ham, black-eyed peas and cornbread dressing, and then we have lots of mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and that sort of thing.”

Parton shared insights into physical activities that she preferred for fitness and said, “I do a little bit of yoga. I don’t do much running, I’m not trying to give myself black eyes!”

Before concluding, the 78-year-old songstress told the outlet, “So I just try to do stretches and little floor exercises. But I’m not big on that.”
