Sean Diddy Combs is accusing prosecutors of spying on him in jail.

The rapper’s lawyers have filed a new motion against his prosecutors, claiming “the government is using Mr. Combs’ detention to spy on him and invade his confidential communications with his counsel,” per People Magazine.

His recent claim comes on the heels of his request for prison rights, where he has requested more screentime to prepare for his May 2025 trial—which if ruled against him could mean lifetime imprisonment for the rapper.

“We write on behalf of Mr. Combs to request that the Court direct the MDC to provide Mr. Combs with the laptop prepared for him by the government and allow him to use that laptop in his unit, consistent with the way other inmates on his unit are permitted to use their laptops,” his defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo wrote in a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian.

Combs’ attorneys previously accused the federal government of misconduct after Combs’ cell was searched, which the prosecutors said was part of a pre-planned sweep and did not target specific inmates.

During the search, a federal investigator photographed Combs’ handwritten notes and sent them to prosecutors, his lawyers raised, further alleging that the government “knowingly, intentionally and secretly” took Combs’ notes and used them against him.

“Mr. Combs cannot possibly receive a fair trial if he is not permitted to confer privately and confidentially with his counsel and others working at their direction, and to take and keep notes of his trial preparation,” defense attorneys said.

Combs, 55, has already been denied bail thrice ahead of his trial. However, at a later hearing, Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that he would not consider any evidence obtained in the jail sweep at a November bail hearing.

The Bad Boy Records founder is also facing dozens of civil lawsuits that include his alleged involvement in star-studded, drug-filled, and videotaped parties known as “freak offs.”
