KARACHI: The Meteorological Department has predicted the weather to remain hot for the next 24 hours in the port city, Geo News reported on Monday.
The maximum temperature in Karachi is likely to be recorded between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius during the next 24 hours, according to the weather department.
Highlighting the atmospheric situation in the port city, the Met Office said: “Warm and dry winds are blowing from the northwest at a slow speed in Karachi and the humidity in the air is 52%.”
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature recorded in the urban metropolis in the last 24 hours was 21.7°C.
Parallel to this, the Met Office has also predicted rain with strong winds, and thunderstorms in upper and central parts of the country from March 25 to 27.
Additionally, it said that a series of westerly winds is likely to enter the western regions of the country tonight.
The westerly winds have also been forecast to likely affect the upper and central regions of the country as well.
Rain and snowfall in the mountains are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Peshawar, Mardan, Kurram and Waziristan from March 25 to 28, as per the Met office.
Moreover, during this period, rain and snowfall are also expected in Hunza, Skardu, Astore and Diamer.
On the other hand, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms are also likely in Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot and Bagh during the same period.
In Punjab, rain with thunderstorms is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Mianwali and Khushab, according to the Met office.
Light rain is also expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat, Khuzdar and Chaman, the Met office said.
Furthermore, heavy rains raise threats of urban flooding in some low-lying areas, according to the weather department.
Travellers have been advised to be cautious due to the risk of snowfall and landslides in the mountainous areas.
