A video that has racked up millions of views on social media allegedly shows a powerful explosion. Online users claim it captures the aftermath of a Pakistani attack on military settlements in India.
The claim is false. The video is from Indonesia and was not recorded during the recent flare-up between Pakistan and India.
Claim
On May 7, the day India launched a wave of missiles into Pakistan, a 10-second video began circulating online claiming to show Pakistan retaliating by targeting a residential area for Indian military personnel.
The post has been viewed over 183,000 times and reposted more than 700 times.

Fact
The video is actually from Indonesia and was recorded prior to May 7.
Geo Fact Check analysed key frames from the footage and traced it to May 5, when it was published by Pos Kupang, the YouTube channel of a regional Indonesian news outlet.
A translated media report confirms the explosion took place in a company parking area in the town of Jepara, where a massive fire broke out.
The exact video can be seen here.
The same incident was also reported on the same day by another Indonesian news outlet, Garuda TV.
Verdict: The video predates the May 7 events and shows a fire in Jepara, Indonesia, not a Pakistani attack on an Indian military colony.
