Speculations of Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz having tensions with the rest of the Beckhams are reflecting in their online activities as well after the couple skipped all his family gatherings this year.
One such example was an exchange between Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo and Cruz from last month as they mocked his wife Nicola in social media comments.
The particular exchange began with Nicola gushing over Romeo’s ex-girlfriend Mia’s Regan by commenting “so beautiful Mia” with a sparkle emoji and a pink heart under her Instagram upload.
Taking notice of Nicola’s praises for Romeo’s ex, Cruz poked fun at the comment under a separate slideshow posted by Romeo just two days later on April 7, writing “so beautiful Romeo” with the same emojis to mock their sister-in-law.
It is pertinent to mention that Nicola’s sweet exchange came amid rumours that Brooklyn and Nicola are primarily feuding with his family over Brooklyn’s choice of lover as they disapprove of his current girlfriend DJ Kim Turnbull—who he has been romantically linked to since late 2024. TMZ claimed that Brooklyn is concerned about Kim’s “intentions” with Romeo as she happens to be Brooklyn’s former friend.
Brooklyn and Nicola, who married in 2022, have not been pictured at any family events since 2024 and even reportedly asked his parents to keep a private get-together without Brooklyn and his girlfriend on account of his father David Beckham’s 50th birthday.
When their conditions were refused, Brooklyn and Nicola flew back to the US despite having skipped the 2025 Met Gala and come all the way to London for David’s milestone birthday.
However, a source suggested to the Daily Mail that Kim is only being made a scapegoat when Nicola is one to be showing troubling “patterns.”
“This is nothing to do with Kim and is all about Nicola. All David and Victoria want is their son back — and they will be there to welcome him any time,” the insider told the publication.
Sources claimed that Nicola has a pattern of “starting an argument” before family events and then stopping her husband from attending.
“It seems Nicola doesn’t like Brooklyn spending any time with the Beckhams full stop and is using his previous closeness to Kim and her getting in with the family as a reason to not be around them,” another source claimed. “She denies it, but Nicola has been controlling him since the wedding. The family, including the brothers, have had enough of it.”
Even during their 2022 wedding festivities, Nicola wore wedding gowns from Valentino, Dior and Versace but nothing created by her fashion designer mother-in-law Victoria Beckham.
However, Nicola denied ill intention in an interview with The Sunday Times, claiming that Victoria’s team did make her a dress, but couldn’t finish it in time for the wedding.
Other reports from the Mirror suggest that Nicola is actually the peacekeeper of the family, with one source claiming that “Nicola encourages Brooklyn to see his family and is usually the reason Brooklyn does see his family.”
“As parents, it’s shocking that Victoria and David are behaving this way… instead of privately discussing the issue. Victoria and David [appear to] have no interest in finding a solution that works for everyone.”
An insider told The Sun, “Brooklyn is really upset that blame for the rift has been levelled at Nicola.”
With different sources giving varying angles, Brooklyn and Nicola’s silence on social media instead of honouring the retired footballer online at the very least seems to contradict claims of Nicola being a peacemaker.
It is pertinent to mention that Nicola even marked her three-year wedding anniversary with Brooklyn online and paid respects to her late grandmothers but nothing for her in-laws.
Per The Standard, Nicola’s last online exchange with the family seems to be during Christmas under David’s post about a turkey feast, which the younger couple skipped but Nicola still acknowledged his sweet caption, replying, “We love you all so much.”
After that, Brooklyn and Nicola have skipped David’s pre-birthday celebrations in Florida with Lionel Messi and Tom Brady back in April, Victoria Beckham’s 51st birthday celebrations on the family yacht that same month, and David’s 50th birthday party in Kensington—which was one of his three total birthday parties hosted in the same weekend.
