Naomi Campbell has been banned from Met Gala following her beef with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Their beef dates back to last September when Met host Anna, 75, dissed the supermodel, 54, onstage during an industry event—calling Cambell someone who is always late.
Campbell defended her position later in front of the crowd, which led to Wintour banning her from the glamourous event being held Monday.
“Naomi shot herself in the stiletto with that comment. You don’t throw shade at the queen of fashion and still expect to walk her red carpet,” a source told The Sun.
“Anna doesn’t forget or forgive. It’s no coincidence. If Anna wants you out, you’re out. Simple as that.”
“Naomi’s been a Met staple for decades, so her absence from the list hasn’t gone unnoticed. Everyone’s whispering and it’s Anna’s way of reminding who runs the show,” the insider added.
Meanwhile, Naomi has recently been downplaying the ban by saying she felt “too old” to attend the fashion event.
“‘It is my last. I can’t… I’m too old. It’s too much for me, the anxiety,” the supermodel said in a YouTube video last week, referring to her 2024 gala appearance.
For the unversed, Naomi and Anna’s feud sparked at the New York Fashion Week ceremony for Harlem’s Fashion Row last September.
Anna, who was leaving the event early herself, accused the supermodel of always being late and left without presenting the gong to Campbell.
“I am a very punctual person, and I have the honour of presenting tonight to someone who is often late,” the Vogue head said onstage.
When the model came in, she was presented the Fashion Icon Award by Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Samira Nasr.
The runway star hit back, saying, “I want to say this. Everything is meant to work out the way it’s going to work out. It wasn’t my choice to have the other lady. I would much rather have this,” Campbell said, gesturing to Nasr.
At the time, Campbell’s fans also raised their concerns on social media when the supermodel posted some glimpses of the 17th Annual Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show & Style Awards.
A diss comment under her recent post from the night read, “Why are you always late? So disrespectful to everyone. #annawintour” to which, Naomi responded saying, “I was right on schedule for @harlemsfashionrow”
“Get your facts straight! She was on time. Anna obviously wanted to leave early and she did. Bye!” another fan reprimanded the critic in the comments section.
Campbell was also spotted with a mystery knee injury at New York Fashion Week’s front row on the same day as Wintour’s diss.
