Meghan Markle was banned from British Vogue cover in September 2022.
Now, insiders have revealed some shocking details about the reason Prince Harry’s wife got banned.
As per FEMAIL, insiders from Conde Nast shared that Anna Wintour banned Meghan after being ‘frustrated’ with her.
The source stated that the Duchess of Sussex was being “diffucult about making it a cover” with her team “insisting on particular straplines.” However, when Anna got to know about it, she “banned” Meghan and said, “That’s it. We don’t want to do this.”
“And so she didn’t get the cover, and I guess she didn’t even get the story,” the source added.
It is worth mentioning that this also resuled in the apparent distance between Meghan Markle and her friend, the former editor of British Vogue, Edward Enninful.
The insider also noted, “[Edward] probably agreed with Anna that you don’t get to call the shots on who’s on the cover. That’s absolutely an editor’s decision.”
“Anna was p***** off. Anna was like frustrated with all the micromanaging, and just was like, ‘All right. That’s it. She can’t have the cover and we’re not doing the story’,” the source added.
Additionally, the source went on to say that that the Duchess of Sussex’s “level of desire for detail and control on the media is almost like Beyoncé level,” adding, “but she’s not Beyoncé.”
It is worth mentioning that it comes just days after insider spills Meghan Markle’s impossible demads for Vogue 2022 cover to Page Six.
The source told the outlet, “The duchess and her team had high expectations and were expecting she might get a print cover or at least a digital cover out of it, but Enninful was not able to meet those expectations. He already had a magazine cover in the bag for that month.”
“Meghan asked for control over [the] photographer, writer, final edit, photos, cover lines, and wanted a global issue,” they added about wife of Prince Harry.
