Kate Cassidy, girlfriend of late pop star Liam Payne, has shared a candid update about her mental health journey as she continues to grieve his tragic death.
The 26-year-old influencer posted a heartfelt TikTok video to her 1.5 million followers, revealing she was taking a “mental reset day” after struggling to get out of bed.
According to Daily Mail, Cassidy’s emotional admission came just days after it was reported that she may not inherit any part of Payne’s estimated £24 million estate.
Payne, who passed away in October at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina, died without a will.
Under UK inheritance laws, his ex-partner Cheryl Tweedy, the mother of his eight-year-old son Bear, has been granted control over his estate.
In the video, filmed from her bed, a makeup-free Cassidy told viewers, “It’s one of those mornings where it’s hard for me to get out of bed and start my day.”
She then took followers through her day, which included walking her dog, meeting a friend for lunch, attending therapy, and journaling, activities she described as part of her self-care routine, as per the outlet.
Cassidy’s openness sparked an outpouring of support from fans, many commending her vulnerability and strength during this difficult time.
Regarding this, one user commented, “Liam’s memory will live on through the beautiful love you both shared.”
Since Payne’s death, Cassidy has been sharing her grieving process on social media, including what she believes are spiritual “signs” from the late singer.
These include sightings of rainbows, angel-wing-shaped clouds, and references to the angel number “444”, a symbol of protection and guidance which the couple reportedly held dear, as per the publication.
In earlier posts, Cassidy revealed that the couple had discussed marriage and even manifested their future together shortly before Payne’s sudden death.
A handwritten note she found in her bag read, “Kate and to marry within a year/engaged and together forever 444.”
Furthermore, five individuals were initially charged in connection with Payne’s death, though charges against three were later dropped.
It is worth mentioning that reportedly, two hotel workers are still facing accusations of supplying drugs to the singer on the night of his death.
