Kelly Clarkson apparently joked about her own choice of husband in a recent concert.
Introducing her song Because of You, she said, “So, this song I wrote when I was 16, and it’s just basically about [how] we can get in such a vicious family cycle. We learn from our parents, [who] learn from their parents. We keep repeating the same horrible s*** over and over.”
She said she wrote the song as a reminder that she should “go any path but this path.”
Poking fun at her own decisions, she said,
In what seemed like a joke about her decision to marry Brandon Blackstock, the Stronger hitmaker said, “Now, it turns out that I chose the same f***ing path. That’s great, but then, I was like, ‘Never mind.’ It takes a minute and sometimes you’re not taught great examples about what to look for, and you don’t really know what to look for [until you realize], ‘This isn’t it.’ I think that’s a lot of us.”
Kelly Clarkson was married to Blackstock from 2013 to 2020 and shares daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remington, 8, with him.
