Julia Roberts is facing harsh backlash after choosing to grieve her dog instead of acknowledging her sister’s death.

According to Radar Online, the 57-year-old actress is being accused of caring more about her dog than her half-sister.

For the unversed, Roberts’ dog, Myrtle, died not long ago before the birthday of her late half-sister, Nancy Motes, as she once had stated that the Notting Hill star “mercilessly” bullied her.

Also, on May 16, just before Mother’s day, she posted a picture of the 19-year-old pooch on Instagram and paid a heartfelt tribute.

Roberts also added a caption under her post that read, “Our Myrtle.”

Notably, the post from the star of Pretty Woman overlapped with Motes’ birthday, but she did not make any post remembering her deceased sister.

Her close family members shared that the death of Roberts’ dog made her more upset than her sisters.

The insiders said Motes’ fiancé, John Dilbeck, quipped, “Me and my family are still devastated by the tragedy.”

Dilbeck went on to take a jab at Roberts by saying, “The way Julie portrays herself as being a family person is fictional.”

“Nancy is just one person who got hurt in the wake of Julia Roberts’ sociopathic behavior,” he added.

It is pertinent to mention that Motes passed away in 2014 after being overdosed on prescription pills.
