Brenda Vaccaro, known for the Netflix show Nonnas, has had several relationships. But her time with Michael Douglas “was wonderful,” she said.
The duo dated for seven years after working on the 1971 film Summertree. In an interview with Page Six, the now 85-year-old looked back at her relationship with her ex-boyfriend.
“Everything was wonderful,” she said, adding, “We were young, we were beautiful, oh my God, we were such a gorgeous couple. Breathtaking.”
During their seven-year relationship, the pair decided to move to the West Coast. Weighing in on this, Brenda said, “To come to California together to experience all that stuff.”
She continued, “He got his first show, ‘The Streets of San Francisco.’ We were so excited. It was like, ‘Wow, you know, we left New York and came to California and everything that was supposed to happen happened.’”
Despite having stellar chemistry, the couple parted ways. The reason the Friends alum gave was an admission that she fell in love with actor Don Stroud.
But even after their split, Brenda said Michael has no hard feelings. “I do still adore him,” she said. I think he’s wonderful.”
The Ant-Man star married Dianda Luker the same year the pair called it quits. After divorcing her, he married Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2000.
On the other hand, the Midnight Cowboy actress has been married thrice and is currently with her husband, Guy Hector.
