
Lorde just addressed if she would be performing at Glastonbury this year.
As rumors regulate on social media that the Ribs singer would be delivering a secret set at this year’s festival, and as she releases her fourth studio album, Virgin, on June 27, revealed if the news is actually true.
On BBC Radio 2, Lorde was asked this question to which she replied, “Wow! You know… I’m pretty keen, honestly. I feel like… ’cause the album’s gonna be coming out right around that time…”
The singer who would also soon be announcing her schedule for the Pyramid Stage that day currently featuring a 35-minute “TBA” slot before sets from Alanis Morissette, Biffy Clyro and The 1975, also added, “I am quite tempted by what’s going on because I’ve got lots of friends playing as well… We’ll see, we’ll see if I can pull some strings and get there.”
Lorde, who has previously performed at Glastonbury in 2022 and 2017 stated how she was shocked by the scale of the festival when she performed on the Pyramid Stage previously.
“(It was) absolutely unbelievable – enormous. It’s just the best – it’s the best festival in the world,” the Royals singer recalled.
Teasing her return, Lorde said, “I didn’t really party (there before), so I would be able to… I’m keen to come and play. We’ll see. I’ve gotta talk to the powers that be.”
For the unversed, this year’s Glastonbury festival is scheduled to be held between 25 and 29 June, at Worthy Farm in Somerset with headliners being The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo.
