Meghan Markle recalled her pregnancies with son Archie, 6, and daughter Lilibet, almost 4, during the last episode of the first season of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.
The Duchess of Sussex spoke with Spanx founder Sara Blakely on the episode and recalled gaining weight during her pregnancies.
“A friend just said to me the other day, they were like, ‘I just saw this picture I’d forgotten about when you were so pregnant with Archie,’ ” Markle shared.
The Suits alum recalled that she “gained 65 Lbs. with both pregnancies,” and still wore high heels, especially during official royal engagements when she was with the royals.
“I always wear my five-inch, pointy-toed stilettos,” she admitted, sharing that her friend was shocked by the photo.
” ‘You have the most enormous bump and your tiny little ankles are bracing themselves in these high heels,’ but all my weight was in the front. So you’re just going, how on Earth am I not just tipping, you know, face planting? I was clinging very closely to my husband, like, ‘Please don’t let me fall.’ “
While Markle attended many royal events during her pregnancy with Archie, she kept mostly out of the public eye during her pregnancy with Lilibet, which happened after she and Prince Harry moved to California. The couple welcomed their daughter in 2021.
The finale marked the end of Markle’s podcast, which premiered on April 8, coinciding with the launch of her brand A Ever. The podcast aimed to share insights on business and balancing work and career by hosting successful female entrepreneurs.
